Who we are:

The myGSN community is a community of gamers who enjoy playing and discussing games together. We provide a good, clean, and fun environment for our members to play and discuss games. myGSN is comprised of a all volunteer staff that dedicates their time and effort to provide these things to the community at large. They have worked countless hours since myGSN's inception to do this. Not only do they do this for free, but in most cases, they also shore up the gaps in the income vs. expense battle.

Our Equiptment:

We currently lease two servers that function as a dedicated game server and a website server. Both servers are hosted in the middle of the United States, and are done so by the same company. We did this to have redundancy. If one machine or datacenter became unavailable, the other would most likely still be online. The majority of our costs come from the leasing of these two machines.

Our Costs:

Our costs come from four main sources: Game Server, Web Server, Statistics, Software. We have gone thru several stages of growth, backwards and forwards, that have required us to change our hardware a few times. We are currently in need of expanding our game server again, so we have tried to budget in these additional costs. We have a current cost and growth budget of approximately $450 a month and is broken down as follows:

Current Donations:

We are in the process of upgrading our player account profiles and tracking information. These upgrades will include better tracking of players and donations. In the future we will be able to provide you with real time donation information. We want to do this for a few reasons, transparency, but also to inform the community at large how short we are each month, and who really helps, via donations to keep the community viable. We currently have less than twenty donor's, with one hundred $5.00 donors needed. This means that the twenty donors, and Antithasys, fill in the gaps. While we have gotten by so far with this arrangement, it is unfair to continue to ask these people to do so.

How To Donate:

We have recently upgraded our website to now include different account types. We will be moving to this system to track donations and, in the future, automatically process donation accounts with our game servers. If you are already a member, you can upgrade your account from a Free Account to a Donation Account. You can do this in your profile under the Account menu. Just select Upgrade Your Account from the menu and follow the instructions. If you are a new user to the site, you will see these account types when registering. There are four donation level accounts available:

These plans are subject to change at anytime. We are currently running discounts in an effort to increase our donations. These plans will be readdressed when donations increase. There are two payment types, paypal one time payment, and a paypal subscription. You do not need to get a subscription, and can just pay manually, but remember that your account will expire at the deadline, and manual payments will need to be made each cycle to keep your account in good standing. It is important to note that while we do not do this in the hope to make money, breaking even would be nice. If we do get funds beyond what is needed for any month, the money will be reserved for future months or expansions to the network. With enough funds, we could even plan community events like lan parties.

We realize, and hope you do as well, that $5.00/month is not a lot to ask, less than a lunch at most fast food restaurants. In fact we are here today because a small number of people absorb a large amount of the costs. If you are capable and inclined to donate more, we encourage you to do so.
